WE ARE CLOSING OUR DOORS

Update …… All good things come to an end and so it is with Ruby and the Angel. It’s with mixed emotion that we share this news with you. 

 

After many fantastic years on Debenham High Street we have reached the end of an era as the tough decision has been taken not to renew our lease. You have heard it many times over the last few years, from many small independents but it is increasingly hard to make things financially viable in a high street shop in this chaotic world. In the next few months we will be closing the doors on the our beautiful shop and pausing for a while to work out the next chapter for Ruby and the Angel. 

 

It has been an adventure, with numerous highs and some notable lows! We have bought to our shop beautiful clothing, gifts and our amazing team have added sparkle to the high street. We have been recognised by the industry, winning numerous awards and have been nominated by you, our incredible customers as a reflection of what we deliver every single day. We have created a community space where our customers have come together to support us as we have supported the village and surrounding area. 

 

Over the years we’ve been privileged to be part of your lives and the community. Together we have weathered storms ranging from a pandemic, Brexit and have been battered by supply chain issues and the choppy waters of the cost of living crisis, making prices rocket and bills ‘eye wateringly’ high. Every business that has survived this has reacted to the ever changing retail scene, however customers are still feeling the pinch and we fear it will still take a few years for the economy to recover, so we need to take stock and work out the ‘new’ future for Ruby and the Angel. Please KEEP WATCHING as we update you on our plans. You never know where we might ‘pop up’ in Suffolk over the next few years and will continue to be online for the foreseeable future. 

 

Our adventure here has been full of some amazing people, from our loyal customers to the other small Suffolk businesses that we have had the honour of working with. Plus the amazing team here past and present that have worked so hard for the shop, the customers and the community. Thank you all for making it worthwhile. We will miss out sunny little spot on the high street! 

 

For the next few months the it’s BUSINESS AS USUAL! Please continue to support us to make this exit as seamless, happy, profitable and easy as possible! There may be some changes as we start this journey, the opening hours may shift, our staff circumstances may change as we all navigate the path ahead, but please keep watching our social pages for updates, support us still, by making us your first stop for gifts and fashion until we close. Our commitment to serving you with the same fun welcome and dedication remains unwavering. 

 

Our loyalty scheme is now closed. If you have a full card of points we will be in touch for you to spend your points. We hope you have enjoyed your ‘goodies’ over the years as a “thank you” from us for supporting Ruby and the Angel. 

 

Finally, a note to all our fellow business owners. Each of you bring your own unique flair and passion to the mix. Although it is bittersweet to be closing our doors and not being part of that mix ongoing, we take immense pride in being part of this high street and a source of inspiration for others. Competition has fuelled us to excel in everything we have done. We extend our sincerest wishes for continued success to all of our fellow small business retailers, together we make our village a vibrant hub of creativity and entrepreneurship. 

 

The Ruby team, my friends and family who have helped me over the years, thank you all. You have all been such a great support, embraced the essence of Ruby and the Angel and the community that we work in, it has been a pleasure working with you all and getting to know your family and friends. I will miss ‘you’ and ‘this’ very much  but never say never! 

 

To all our amazing customers thank you! Please support your little ones! The ones you see going above and beyond for your village. The ones that smile and welcome you. The ones that laugh and joke and make your day happier! I thank you for enjoying us and making the rest of our time here hugely special……Carry on Shopping!
